What is a Portable System?
A portable system is an offering from Quantum Opus that combines the compressor and coldhead into one convenient package. It arrives fully assembled on large wheels, to literally roll out of the package! The user can just plug it in, cool the system with a single button, and be ready to count photons.
What is an Integrated System?
A One-Button system is an offering from Quantum Opus that will automate the Vacuum Pump and Compressor. It can be easily spotted by the circular button with an LED status light on the front of the Opus One, that is used to be able to warm and cool an Opus One with a single button.
Can I upgrade to a "One Button", Integrated or Portable system?
Absolutely! Reach out to support@quantumopus.com and we would be happy to upgrade your system.
Are detectors able to be damaged by Room Lights?
At Quantum Opus, we have tested devices at light intensities beyond room lights or normal operation, and have yet to see any damage. We can assure you that Room Lights will not damage your nanowire detectors.
How Can I turn the system On or Off?
See section 4 to see how to operate your system.
Can I leave the Coldhead running for extended periods of time?
Systems can stay cold for very long periods of time. We suggest warming and re-cooling the coldhead after about 6 months of continuous operation.
What do I do if the temperature of the coldhead increases?
See section 6.2.2.
Are regular nanowire devices polarization sensitive?
Yes! Even using a well-polarized source at the wrong polarization could reduce device efficiency up to 50%.
How long does it take the system to cool?
It requires about 4 hours for a system to cool, depending on your vacuum pump.
How long does it take the system to warm?
It requires about 12 hours for a fully evacuated system to warm.
